What is the main theme of the PAR Seminar 2025?

This year, the main theme of the PAR Seminar focuses on different rights-based regulatory models for sex work: what can we learn from the experiences of other countries, such as New Zealand, Belgium, or the Netherlands? We will discuss the future of sex work regulation, international experiences, and local voices.

By sharing important information about the realities of sex workers in countries with different regulatory models, we aim to enrich our own understanding of how to better integrate this population into society, freeing them from lived stigma.

Objectives

  • Empower community-based movements, such as collectives and NGOs, academics, and other allies through examples of international best practices;

  • Promote public debate on the regulation of sex work;

  • Reflect on the needs and conditions for potential regulation in Portugal;

  • Include and give voice to sex workers and their organizations.

Organization

This event is organized by Plano AproXima, in collaboration with APDES and MTS.

Plano AproXima is an initiative dedicated to promoting the rights of sex workers and creating inclusive and informative spaces for dialogue.
