In its 5th edition, the AproXima-te Award continues its commitment to supporting and valuing community initiatives that promote the rights and dignity of people engaged in sex work.
In 2025, a total of €27,000 will be awarded in prizes.
Objectives of the AproXima-te Award 2025
We aim to support ideas that strengthen bonds of solidarity, create safe spaces, and promote listening, care, and collective action.
Applications for the 1st Prize of the 5th edition will be accepted from July 2, 2025, to September 30, 2025 via this application form.
Online voting for the 2nd Prize will take place from July 2 to October 14, 2025.

Competing Prizes
In 2025, we will award four prizes will be selected through three different methods:
1st Prize — €12,000
Awarded to the organization whose application most clearly and effectively demonstrates how the proposed project promotes the rights of people engaged in sex work. The evaluation will be carried out by an impartial panel (see regulations).

Rita Alcaire (Postdoctoral Researcher at CES, Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra)
2nd Prize — €7,000
Decided by public online voting on Classificados X. Only users with an active account for more than 4 months can vote on the Classificados X website. The application receiving the most votes will be awarded. Voting will take place from July 2 to October 14, 2025.
3rd Prize — Special Mention — €4,000
Awarded by the AproXima Plan to an organization that has stood out in the past year for defending the rights of people engaged in sex work. The selection will be made by the AproXima Plan, which will provide justification for the award.
4th Prize — Special Mention — €4,000
Awarded by the AproXima Plan to another organization that has distinguished itself over the past year in defending the rights of people engaged in sex work. The selection will be made by the AproXima Plan, with justification provided for the award.

Eligible Organizations
Civil society organizations or legally established collectives at local or regional level that work directly with people engaged in sex work in Mainland Portugal or the Autonomous Regions, and that are able to issue an invoice, are eligible to apply for the AproXima-te Award.
Ineligible Organizations
The following are excluded:
Entities belonging to the National Health Service (SNS), Directorate-General of Health (DGS), Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS), Regional Health Administrations (ARS), Regional Health Directorate of the Azores, and Regional Health Secretariat of Madeira.
