AproXima-te Award
The AproXima-te Award aims to recognize associations and/or projects that provide high-quality services across the country to sex workers, as well as to other individuals in vulnerable situations.
At Plano AproXima, we work to promote networking among various public, private, and civil society entities, thereby improving the services available to the population and contributing through economic and technical resources.
Across the country, there are numerous organizations providing services to sex workers, including social support, health advice, legal assistance, and psychosocial care. We believe these organizations should be recognized and supported.
What is the purpose of the AproXima-te Award?
Aware of the difficulties faced by teams working on the ground to assist sex workers, we have developed the AproXima-te Award to encourage and promote good practices in this area.
This award provides financial support for projects that support sex workers and that, through quality services aligned with the main concepts of good practices, stood out in 2020.
Objectives of the AproXima-te Award
- Distinguish community-based entities or projects that provide essential services to sex workers;
- Value the inclusion of good practices in community-based projects;
- Promote networking;
- Promote the dissemination of innovative practices implemented by teams working in the field, so that they can serve as an incentive for new projects in similar areas;
- Recognise the replicability of good practices from winning projects.
Which institutions are eligible?
All civil society organizations, at regional or local level, that provide direct services within Continental Portugal or the Autonomous Regions to sex workers are eligible.
